What do you do to be involved in the community?
I’ve lived in the same county for my entire life and I’ve seen a lot of good things and I’ve seen a lot of bad things when it comes to the dynamics of a community and what it can bring and offer and what it can take and suffer from.
From politics to public works departments to school districts to the Dynamics of the disabled community and being on both sides of it being a caretaker and now being disabled myself I’d like to say that I speak my mind and I speak it loud when I see something that is not right without a question I will fight a good fight.
Has it raised some brows and snarled some locals. Most definitely. What is right is right and what is wrong is wrong and when I see something is wrong I will do anything and everything I can to fix it.
I will go to the highest representative for the appropriate concern I’ve even worked with the Amy Klobucher office to change various things when it comes to the disabled community. Like health insurance and the requirements and the enrollment period and at one point people would get a fine if they didn’t enroll within the enrollment period as I elected with Amy’s office the special circumstances enrollment allowance. To allow people that didn’t have the resources or the help or the knowledge to be able to appropriately get the right insurance that they needed for their disability and because of their disability that missed the deadline. They would now be able to qualify for special circumstances to be able to enroll outside of the enrollment period.
That’s just one example of how my voice has helped the benefits of others and for myself. There’s people out there that do care and do listen. Higher up authorities of government officials, that if you take that anger that you may have about an issue or topic that your community is struggling with and you put it out there in a positive way and you “Rocky style” it. You can make a difference. You will make a difference and your voice will be heard.

What’s your take on this?
