People these days are busy with making ‘to do’ lists, making money, making ends meet, making others happy and making more time. In doing so, the simple things in life have been neglected. Now the simple things in life are thought of as nonsense, unproductive, and just a waste of time. When in all reality simplicity is one of the most precious gifts and we should feel grateful and blessed that it has been given to us.
It hardly falls under the category of a ‘to do’ and it is not costly but may cost you something if you do not do it. It is not about pleasing others or worrying about making ends meet, but it does require that you reserve some time. This time may be just for yourself, or it may include your loved ones and friends.
Cherishing- To hold dear: feel or show affection for. To keep or cultivate with care and affection: Nurture. To entertain or harbor in the mind deeply and resolutely.
People need to live a simpler life, slow down, have less expectations, clarify their priorities and cherish more. Start doing things that you can carry through life. Make memories, spend time with family and friends, connect with mother nature and enjoy the natural beauty it brings, read a book, meditate by the river, find your Zen, and escape the unrealistic expectations society has corrupted our minds with. Shut your phone off and shut out the world for a day and live in your own world.
Do a little cherishing and hold it dear and close to your heart. Nurture yourself as well as your loved ones show them affection. Nurture your mind and have affection for yourself. Give yourself a break from the chaos.
It is very productive, and it is not nonsense to reboot your inner soul, refresh your mindset and restart yourself from this very demanding, high paced, unpredictable world that we live in. So, take some time away from all the hustle and bustle and do more cherishing. You will have no regrets. I promise.
