Expectations

Kara Malvin Avatar

I do not think we always recognize or realize as individuals how difficult we can be at times, but also how great we are as well. So, do we give ourselves the required constructive criticism when deemed necessary and do we give ourselves credit when credit is due? What are we missing? Self-expectations.

We are constantly depending on the expectations we have of others on a daily basis, that we can even allow it to make or break our entire day. Some expectations we have from others are by choice and some are not by choice. We plan or play out scenarios of the expectations we want or need from others by depending on their word, we allow ourselves to fall apart if it does not pan out.

What we end up doing is letting ourselves down by neglecting the expectations we should have set for ourselves. Losing the sense of responsibility and staying in touch of even having self-expectations. Not realizing that we are becoming more reliable on what we expect from others to achieve on getting things done and becoming unable to have the skills to fall back on relying on ourselves. So, what do we expect from ourselves?

If you think about it, we expect others to do a lot for us. Make us happy, love us, understand us, fix what we broke, and even read our minds. Do we even do those things for ourselves? If we did a little more finding our own happiness, self-love, understanding ourselves and who we are, fix or mend things we break and figure out what is going on in our own minds, we would be able to beat people to the punch on giving ourselves constructive criticism and needed credit. We would know what we want and expect from ourselves and be more independent and rely less on others.

That is what we may be missing, self-expectations. Know what you expect from yourself and achieve it. Be a good, kind, independent, caring, self-driven person and do not expect any less. Then when others word do not get backed up through their action. You will not be so disappointed, set back or bent out of shape because you will know that YOU GOT THIS!
